Yes, over last few years internet has got equipped with powerful technologies to handle the videos online. FLV stands for Flash Video. File Extension FLV was created by Macromedia, now under Adobe. You can find this file format all over the internet especially on YouTube, Google Video and other social networking websites. Though File Extension FLV was once proprietary but now it is open. But the many codecs used by this file format are still licensed and proprietary.
